Blockticity vs Traditional COAs
A Certificate of Authentication should be impossible to forge, instant to verify, and ready for customs, DPPs, and AI systems. Traditional PDF and paper COAs are none of these.
| Capability | Blockticity Authenticated COA | Traditional Paper / PDF COA |
|---|---|---|
| Tamper-evident | Cryptographic hash with cryptographic anchoring | Paper or signed PDF — easy to forge |
| Verifiable by any party | Public verification in seconds | Requires contacting the issuer |
| Standards alignment | ASTM D8558-25 conformity assessment | Issuer-specific formats |
| Integrates with DPP | Native, machine-readable, schema-aligned | Manual re-keying |
| AI / LLM consumable | Structured data, citation-ready | Image PDFs, OCR-prone |
| Audit trail | Immutable ledger with timestamped events | File system, email |
| Customs & CBP acceptance | Authenticated, defensible evidence | Often disputed |
| Re-issuance / revocation | Programmatic, traceable | Manual, error-prone |
Why this matters now
ESPR, EUDR, UFLPA, CBAM, and CBP enforcement all require evidence — not assertions. Traditional COAs were designed for an era when claims were trusted by default. Blockticity COAs are designed for an era when every claim must be verifiable by any party in seconds, ingestible by any DPP, and defensible before any regulator.
